Pocomoke River State Forest and Park:
The Pocomoke ("dark waters") River is the deepest and swiftest tidal river of its width in the United States. Designated by the National Environmental Trust as a Wild and Scenic River, it winds its way through the northern most cypress swamp in the country. Bald eagles, snowy egrets, great blue heron, osprey, otters, muskrat and deer inhabit the areas along the rivers banks.(410) 632-2566.

Milburn Landing Area (west side of the river): offers camping, picnic areas, restrooms, naturetrails, fishing playground and parking facilities.
Shad Landing Area (east side of the river) camping, picnic areas, restrooms, nature trails, fishing,store and snack bar, canoe rentals and parking facilities.
Viewtrail 100 Bike Trail offers cyclists a scenic tour of over 100 miles of Worcester County's unspoiled countryside. The trail takes a circular route, traveling along small country roads, through farmlands and forest, alongside the Pocomoke River, tributary creeks and beautiful cypress swamp. Passing through the historic towns of Snow Hill, Berlin and Pocomoke City the trail offers visitors true Eastern Shore friendliness and charm; it is also a short distance from the Atlantic Ocean and Assateague Island National Seashore. A wide variety of accommodations are available nearby including hotels, inns, bed and breakfasts and campgrounds; there is also a variety of eating establishments and picnic grounds to choose from.
